Welcome to BYBATA — a community where you trade without cash, give gifts freely, and fund personal or business dreams. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and BYBATA Inc. By accessing or using our mobile app, website, or services, you agree to these Terms.
BYBATA provides a sharing economy platform built on three pillars:
Additional features include KARMA trust tiers (Newcomer → Legend), BYC (bYbata Coin) in-app currency, wallet for fiat/crypto funding, referral program, and guest browsing.
You must be at least 18 years old to register. By creating an account, you represent that you have full legal capacity. You agree to provide accurate, current information and to update it as needed. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
Guest access: You may browse listings without an account. To create listings, trade, gift, donate, or chat, you must sign up (guest → member conversion).
KARMA is a non‑transferable trust score that reflects your positive contributions. It is calculated automatically based on completed actions:

KARMA tiers determine visibility, trust badges, and access to certain features. We may suspend or reduce KARMA for policy violations, false trades, or abusive behavior.
BYC is an in-app digital currency used for:
You may fund your BYC wallet using fiat currency via Paystack, Stripe, Flutterwave, or PayPal. BYC is not a legal tender and has no guaranteed value outside BYBATA. We reserve the right to adjust BYC utility, expiration, or exchange rates with notice. Fraudulent or abusive BYC activity may result in forfeiture.
You may not use BYBATA to:
We actively monitor and use automated tools to detect violations. Consequences range from KARMA deduction to permanent suspension and legal action.
You may share your unique referral code. When a new user signs up with your code and completes qualifying actions, both parties earn KARMA and BYC:

Abuse of referrals (e.g., self‑referrals, fake accounts) voids rewards and may lead to account termination.
If a trade, gift, or donation goes wrong, you agree to first resolve directly with the other user via in‑app chat. If unresolved, you may submit a dispute to BYBATA support. We will review evidence (chat logs, photos, KARMA history) and may adjust KARMA, reverse BYC transfers, or remove listings. Our decision is final for disputes up to $500 value. For larger claims, you may pursue arbitration as described in Section 13.
BYBATA is currently free to use for basic trades and gifts. We may introduce optional paid features:
We will always notify you before charging any fee. You can withdraw BYC or fiat (where supported) subject to minimum thresholds and processing fees.
You retain ownership of photos, descriptions, and campaign stories you post. By posting, you grant BYBATA a worldwide, royalty‑free license to display, distribute, and promote that content within the platform and our marketing materials (with attribution). You warrant that you have the right to post such content.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or harm the community. You may delete your account at any time via settings. Upon termination:
BYBATA provides a platform for users to interact. We are not a party to any trade, gift, or donation agreement and do not verify the quality, legality, or safety of items or campaigns. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify and hold BYBATA Inc., its officers, employees, and partners harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Nigeria. Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved through informal negotiation. If unresolved, it shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria, under the Lagos Court of Arbitration Rules. You waive the right to a jury trial or class action. For small claims (under $1,000), you may also bring a claim in small claims court.
We may update these Terms to reflect product changes or legal requirements. We will notify you via in‑app message or email at least 14 days before material changes become effective. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
